An old resale or friends-of-the-library hardcover book will become the base of an art journal as we deconstruct the book pages with inspiration and creativity. Adult students will work with a professional artist who will help them gain courage and confidence while widening their creative hearts and minds through lessons in basic design. Methods of image transfers, stitching, stenciling, splattering, and stamping will be covered. The first week of this eight-week session will be an introduction to the process of altering books and art journaling.

Supplies to Bring to first class: A hardcover book with 200 pages or less, (the book will become your art journal), scissors, an eight oz. jar of acrylic gel medium, an eight oz. jar of gesso, an apron, a few paint brushes,  favorite magazines, a roll of wax paper, a container for water, and newspapers for your table workstation.
