American Like Me: Reflections on Life Between Cultures

Participate in the “One Book, One Elmhurst” book discussion facilitated by Elmhurst Public Library and Elmhurst History Museum staff with after-hours access to exhibits.

In this collection of short, personal essays edited by America Ferrera, prominent Americans from diverse backgrounds and occupations share their experiences growing up between cultures in the U.S. and their efforts to find a way to belong. Contributors include figure skater Michelle Kwan, Padma Lakshmi of “Top Chef,” Lin-Manuel Miranda, and others. Books available at Elmhurst Public Library.
