All Nature Sings: Orchestral Soundscapes

This WCSO performance will feature works inspired by the beauty and power of natural soundscapes. Highlights will include the world-premiere performance of Dr. Xavier Beteta’s Camino del Bosque, which incorporates soundscape recordings captured in Guatemala by Dr. Kristen Page, and a new poem written by Dr. Tiffany Kriner. The program also includes Felix Mendelssohn’s evocative Fingal’s Cave, Johann Strauss, Jr.’s beloved On the Beautiful Blue Danube, and Ottorino Respighi’s exhilarating Pines of Rome. Attendees will enjoy special contributions from students involved in Wheaton’s German Studies and HNGR programs.
