Downers Grove Choral Society 64th Season Opener "Light Beyond Shadow"

The Downers Grove Choral Society, with Artistic Director John Patrick Rakes, will open its 64th Season Sunday, November 13, 2022 with the concert Light Beyond Shadow. The concert features Morten Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna with Organist, Kevin Lange, and more works full of light and shadow.

Downers Grove Choral Society, anchored in Downers Grove, draws its members from around the Chicagoland area. Our membership extends well beyond Downers Grove, including such communities as Western Springs, Elgin, Woodridge, Lemont, Wheaton, St. Charles, Naperville, Bloomingdale, Lombard, Aurora, Villa Park, Darien and Willowbrook, to name just a few.

The concert venue policy is to follow the recommendations established by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), which recommends that people wear a mask based on personal preference, informed by knowing the current COVID-19 community level where they live and personal level of risk when gathering indoors.
