Non-profit People's Resource Center is looking for volunteers to help us with art classes for the fall.  We have a variety of opportunities ranging from weekly to monthly and working with people of all ages.  Here is current information on our needs:

URGENT Kids’ Art Instructor/Assistant- Provide fun and creative after-school art classes during the school year.  PRC’s safety protocols, school safety measures, and State of IL school masking mandates will be followed.  

Instructors oversee  the class and choose projects for each week.  PRC provides supplies and project ideas!

Assistants lend a hand, helping with anything needed during class.

  • You are available to volunteer at a weekly class listed below:
    • Instructor positions:
      • West Chicago, K-5th Grade (Wednesdays, 4-5:30) 
      • West Chicago, Jr.High (Thursdays, 4:30-5:45)
      • Lombard, K-5th Grade (Tuesdays, 4:30-5:30)
      • Addison, 1st-6th Grade (Mondays, 4-5)
    • Assistant positions:
      • West Chicago, K-5th Grade (Wednesdays, 4-5:30)
      • Willowbrook, K-5th Grade (Tuesdays, 4-5)

Art classes follow the school schedule, running Oct 4- Dec 13 and Jan 10- April 25.

 

 

Community Art Teacher- Provide fun and creative art lessons in the community.  PRC’s safety protocols and applicable State of IL mandates will be followed.

  • You look forward to planning a lesson for each class session
  • You are available to lead one of these classes
Where When Description
Virtual Mondays, 7-8:30pm Painting Class for all ages. You teach by demonstration during class and students follow along.
Virtual Thursdays, 11-11:30am Art class for pre-schoolers and their caregivers. Walk the group through simple lessons.
In-Person at a Westmont partner site Flexible Elderly Art Class.  Lead students through art lessons of your choice.
In-Person at a Downers Grove partner site Monthly: 3rd Mondays, 2-3:30pm Elderly Art Class.  Lead students through art lessons of your choice.
