YOUR GUIDE TO ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT IN DUPAGE COUNTY
Fiber and jewelry artists are invited to apply to Uncommon Threads 2021.
This year, we are changing up the format of Uncommon Threads to make this an even bigger event. Held over three days, the event will begin with a Friday Night Cocktail evening that includes our ever-popular runway show, boutique area and surprises galore. Live-streamed for paid attendees who cannot be at the Q. Center in St. Charles Illinois, it is going to be a great night.
The festivities will continue with Fashion Weekend at Fine Line. For two days the public will be able to come by and shop all the wonderful clothing and jewelry items. An online element will be part of these two days.
This is an indoor event. We have categories for artists who are unable to attend but want their work included, artists who can only attend either Friday night or the Fine Line Fashion Weekend and artists who want to be there all three days.
Runway Artists
For runway artists, it is the opportunity to present a collection of 3-5 garments on the runway with the option to submit additional garments and accessories for sale in the Boutique area. All runway items must be for sale.
Our models supply their own base garments, so you do not need to provide. We embrace all sizes of models so your runway garments do not need to fit a specific size range.
There are three awards in recognition of outstanding work:
Kavanagh Award, Best of Show, $250
Jurors’ Choice Award, Best Body of Work, $200
People’s Choice Award, $100
For artists who wish to operate their own Booth, this is an opportunity to have your work for sale at an event where the patrons attending are expecting to purchase.
All sales will be handled by Fine Line, leaving you the opportunity to talk to patrons about your pieces,
If you are an accessories artist, you can apply and submit up to 30 items. This booth is set up and managed by Fine Line so you do not need to attend. All items must be priced below $250.00.
All work must be for sale. Fine Line retains a 35% commission on all pieces sold. Please consider this commission when pricing your work. All sales are handled by members of the Fine Line team.
Work will be insured while in the possession of Fine Line. Artists are responsible for insuring their work while in transit. Artist Managed Booth Artists are responsible for insuring their own work and do not have a price limit.
We reserve the right to use your jury images/images taken on any of the days for publicity purposes.
