In celebration of the Frida: Timeless exhibit at the Cleve Carney Museum of Art at the College of DuPage, The Beer Cellar owners Lauren and Dave Hawley are seeking the work of local artists that captures the spirit of  Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, a strong and passion woman most remembered for her self-portraits and bold, vibrant colors. Pieces will be on display from July 5 through August 31 in the Beer Cellar’s Tap Room, 488 Crescent Blvd., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.

Artists interested in having their work considered should send a digital image of their piece(s) to info@beercellarchicago.com along with a description (size, medium, if the piece is available for sale and if so, sale price). Work will be juried and artists will be notified by email.

Program details:

  • Submissions due June 25, 2021
  • 2-D in any media (3-D work will also be considered)
  • Size restrictions: 16″ by 20″ (in either direction) or larger.
  • All work must be delivered/picked up personally.

An artist reception is planned. Stay tuned for details.

Sales: Anyone interested in purchasing a piece of artwork on display will be referred directly to the artist. The Beer Cellar is not responsible for sales and no commissions will be taken.

Promotion: Images of selected artworks may be chosen for promotional publicity, website, and social channels and/or for educational and archival purposes.
