ONE: Cleve Carney Art Gallery Annual Emerging Artist Exhibit 2018

ONE is the Cleve Carney Art Gallery’s second annual juried emerging artist exhibition. This exhibition is intended to provide a survey of contemporary artwork being created by emerging artists in the region and across the country. ONE is meant to be a stepping stone for those early in their artistic careers.

Jurying process

Work for the exhibition will be selected by a panel of artists and arts professionals from the region.

This exhibition is open to all contemporary artists working in 2d, 3d, audio, installation, performance and video. There is a $15 application fee that is used to offset the costs of the exhibition.

Artists can submit up to 5 images of their work for consideration. All submitted work must be available for inclusion in the exhibition and must have been produced within the past year.

This exhibit is open to artists nationwide. For those located in the Chicago area the gallery will arrange for local pick-up, but cannot guarantee to cover shipping costs outside of the region. The Cleve Carney Art Gallery is not responsible for any framing, mounting, printing or other work specific costs.

Submitting work

Only jpeg, png, mp3 or mov format files are accepted.  All image files must be a minimum of 300dpi with the longest dimension being no smaller then 1200 pixels. So if you have a horizontal image the horizontal (or longest) dimension should not be less then 1200 pixels.

NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. NO EXCEPTIONS.
ONLY ONLINE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED

Awards

Three artists from the exhibition will be selected to receive a $500 award for outstanding submissions and one artist will receive a $1,500 award for best in show. The awards will be determined by the panel of jurors and be based on the artworks quality of execution, conceptual clarity as well as its relevance to contemporary art and society.

Acceptance Notification:
Monday April 30, 2018
Artists will be notified via the email provided in the application.

Accepted Artwork Drop off:
Wednesday May 23, Cleve Carney Art Gallery 11am -7pm
A separate day for Chicago area pick-ups is TBD.

Exhibit Dates:
Friday, June 1 -  Saturday July 28, 2018

Opening Reception:
Friday, June 1, 6:00pm – 8:00pm

Awards will be announced at 7 p.m.
