City of Aurora Seeks Mural Artist

The City of Aurora has acquired an NEA “Arts Engagement in American Communities” grant to commission a mural. The theme of the mural is “Diversity in Technology.” The mural is to be painted on the 40’x40’ second story façade wall of 105 E. Galena Blvd. in Downtown Aurora.  The Aurora Public Art Commission (APAC) is inviting artists to submit a rough sketch, color palette, and a brief statement regarding the concept behind the design. Up to three Artists will be offered a paid contract to submit a full-color, final design.

Inquiries and/or questions pertaining to the provisions and specifications of this request for proposal package shall be directed to the Director of Purchasing, in writing at PurchasingDL@aurora-il.org.  Questions will be accepted until 8:00 am, CST, Friday, February 12, 2021. Questions expect to be answered via addendum and posted to the City’s website at https://www.aurora-il.org/bids.aspx by 12:00 pm, Tuesday, February, 16, 2021. NO questions will be accepted or answered verbally. No questions will be accepted or answered after the February 12, 2021 8:00 am cut-off date/time.  It is the Proposer’s responsibility to check the website before submitting their proposal.

Late Proposals will not be accepted.  City of Aurora, IL is accepting deliveries Monday thru Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, however the offices are only open to the public on Wednesdays and Fridays 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST.
