The Burning Bush Art Gallery is soliciting artists for an upcoming themed show: Rites of Passage

We all go through the stages: puberty, adolescence, adult hood, middle age….  Some go through these stages seamlessly. For others, they could be a dramatic….or traumatic…. initiation event. Society articulates them as graduating from school, ability to drive a car, ability to vote, collecting social security, etc. Some religions recognize them as baptism, confirmation, etc.

We are asking artists to present their thoughts and ideas on Rites of Passage. The exhibit will open Sunday, December 1st and run until Sunday, December 22nd

Call for Visual Artists: This show is open to all artists to submit a piece (or more) for participation in the show. Artists are encouraged to submit a sculpture or 2-dimensional art (i.e. painting, photo) that is ready to hang. Large pieces or additional submittals should be discussed ahead of time. If you any questions and/or would like to exhibit your work(s) on this topic, please contact Tony Asta at 708-705-8669 or at tonyasta@ameritech.net by November 24th. You will be contacted with additional details (i.e. specific drop off times, Artists Reception).

Call for Writers, Storytellers, Poets and Musicians: This show is open to all poets, storytellers, writers and musicians to reflect on their understanding and perspectives on Rites of Passage and to submit a piece (or more) for participation in a Booklet or CD to accompany the art show. You are encouraged to submit a text document (i.e. Word, Google doc) or mpeg to be included in the Booklet or CD. If you have a question and/or would like to participate in the show, please contact Tony Asta at 708-705-8669 or at tonyasta@ameritech.net by November 24th.  As we get closer to the date, additional details will be forthcoming (i.e. Artists Reception).
