Village Theatre Guild is holding open auditions for the second production of its 58th season, “Nice Girl” by Melissa Ross. Cynthia Katz is directing the production.

Josephine Rosen is stuck. It is 1984 in suburban Boston and Jo is 37, single, a secretary and still living with her mother. This is not the life she imagined for herself. A chance encounter with an attractive former schoolmate and a new friendship with a brash, fun-loving co-worker just might provide the momentum she needs to make a change. But needless to say, life is full of curveballs.

There are 3 females roles and 1 male role. A Boston accent is not required, but would be a plus. Headshots and resumes are welcome but not required. Auditions are scheduled for October 17 and 19 at 7:00 pm. No audition appointments are necessary. The production will run Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from January 14 – February 5, 2022. Please be prepared to list ALL conflicts with our rehearsal schedule that will be available on the audition form. There is no pay. Free parking is available at Village Theatre Guild. Auditions consist of cold readings from the script. Sides are available at http://villagetheatreguild.com/productions/auditions/. Village Theatre Guild is located at 2S720 Park Blvd. in Glen Ellyn (near NW corner of Butterfield Rd. and Park Blvd.)

YOU MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED against the COVID-19 virus to audition for this play. Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 is required for any participation at Village Theatre Guild and may be validated with a copy of your vaccination card or the card itself.  Masks are required at all times while waiting to read and may be removed while reading. All VTG staff are fully vaccinated. VTG has instituted many protocols to address mitigation efforts against the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We have improved the air filtration in our space, enhanced cleaning procedures, and have made hand sanitizers available throughout the theatre.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email or call the Director, Cynthia Katz: cakatz3@gmail.com 630-373-0925.
