Scene Study: Middle and High School
This class is tailored for students who want to work on written scenes and/or monologues. They may come in with a theatrical piece in mind, or choose from scenes and monologues provided by the instructor. Scenes are age appropriate and will be tailored to the experience level of the student.

Judy Laughlin
Creative Dramatics Judy has a BA in Theatre from Rockford College in Rockford, IL, and for the past 11 years she has been doing theatre throughout the Chicago area. As an actor, she has worked with Metropolis Performing Arts Centre in Arlington Heights, Village Players in Oak Park, Alchemy Theatre in Wood Dale, Oakton Community College in River Forest, Elgin Community College in Elgin, and in Chicago with The Artistic Home, The Cornservatory, For This Productions, Lincoln Square Theatre, Fury Theatre, and Akvavit Theatre. Backstage, she has been a stage manager, a lighting designer, a costumer, a director, and a stagehand. She has directed full-scale children’s productions of Robin Hood, Treasure Island, and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and she has been Miss Lynn’s trusted assistant for the past several years of Kids On Stage at Village Theatre Guild in Glen Ellyn. Children’s theatre is always fun, always exciting, and always an adventure!

Taking Your Acting to the Next Level Debbie Ruzicka has taught speech and acting as a coach of the nationally recognized Buffalo Grove High School Speech team for 12 years. She has also been a professional actress off and on for over 30 years, with over 60 plays, movies and commercials on her resume. She is a graduate of the Second City Conservatory, and The Ohio State University.
