International Education Week - Reflections of a Writer in Exile: Stories of the Arab Spring

Come hear  Syrian writer Riad Ismat speak about his experiences during Arab Spring and life in the United States.

Riad is a Syrian playwrite, director, and short story and screen-play writer. He served as Syria's ambassador to Pakistan and Qatar, and also as Syria's Minister of Culture until he requested retirement in mid-2012 in the face of erupting violence in Syria.

He currently resides in the United States, and recently published the book, Artists, Writers and The Arab Spring (2018).
