Drawing & Painting

This class will begin with an introduction to the fundamentals of observational drawing using black and white media, including charcoal, graphite, and conte, and progress to using color. Basic concepts such as measuring and proportion, light and shadow, compositional design and color mixing will be covered. Students will consult with the instructor to choose a painting medium, such as acrylic, oil, pastel, or colored pencil. Basic enough for beginners but experienced artists will be challenged through more complex projects. Some supplies included. Instructor will supply a longer list.
