Exploring Film Through a Critical Lens with Sue Thornquist

Presented by The Natural Path at The Natural Path

Do you love movies and want to expand your "movie horizons?" Would you like to become even more knowledgeable about film and learn how to view films in a new way. Do you enjoy talking to other people about the movies you see? If so, "Exploring Film Through a Critical Lens" may be just your ticket to a new movie experience!  Join other movie lovers this FALL for as many as EIGHT three-hour film classes designed to help you become more film "literate"--whether you're an avid film student already or a film lover who doesn't have much experience understanding and analyzing the behind-the-scenes of movies.

The classes will be led by me, a retired English and Film Teacher of 35 years developing and teaching film classes at Downers Grove South High School. I have a minor in film from the University of Chicago graduate program, have led workshops and conference sessions on film, screened films for the Bend Film Festival, and led movie discussions for various groups and organizations, as well as attending film festivals and conferences in numerous locations in the US.

Classes will run September--December on Monday or Tuesday nights, from 6:30-9:30 pm at The Natural Path in downtown Downers Grove. The Natural Path promotes healthy living and positive well being. What better way to meet both of these objectives than through a film class?

The schedule is listed below. Classes are being offered as single sessions, packages of three, or packages of five. You pick and choose which classes most interest you and fit your schedule! This is NOT a series. Each class operates independently and there are no pre-requisites for any of them. Just your interest and enthusiasm.
