The Downers Grove Park District will present three performances of ‘The Secret Garden’ at the Avery Coonley School, 1400 Maple Ave. in Downers Grove.
Based on the classic novel written by Frances Hodgson Burnett in 1911, this heartwarming story brings music and magic to the stage. Watch as Mary Lennox, a young orphan girl, is sent to live in England with relatives that she does not know. There, she discovers a strange walled garden filled with magic and mystery. With the help of the gardener’s apprentice, she coaxes the garden back to life. Through the magical effects of the garden, the young girl is able to restore the health of a friend.
Tickets are available for purchase at the Lincoln Center located at 935 Maple Avenue until August 10 in person, over the phone or online. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door at the Avery Coonley School.
