The Bloomingdale Museum will host the Illinois Watercolor Society’s yearly membership show opening August 12. All are invited to a complimentary reception on August 13 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
The Illinois Watercolor Society was founded in 1981, but upholds an artistic tradition dating back to 1866. Today, with over 180 members, the Illinois Watercolor society sponsors both a national show and a members' invitational exhibit each year; also, they have recently partnered with the Oakbrook Library and hold bi-monthly meetings in the library which are free and open to the public.
The juror for the 2017 IWS members' show will be Ratindra Das A.W.S. (DF), N>W>S>; who is a Dolphin Fellow and a signature member of the American Watercolor Society and six other societies. A holder of Master Status, he has served as a selection juror for the American Watercolor Society and conducts workshops throughout the world. He has also published "Watercolor With An Eye for Design".
