The College of DuPage Dance Department is hosting the 3rd Annual Choreography Showcase with cash prizes and various awards on Saturday, July 29, 7p at Playhouse Theatre.

How to Enter and Eligibility:
– Open to anyone 18 years and older
– Pieces may be set on any number of dancers.
– Any dance work is eligible and not exceeding 10 minutes. Works in progress are considered but must be proposed and supplemented with past work.
– Complete application by June 1st for full consideration, with notification by June 25 if selected.
– DVDs are accepted but not returned.
– Submit $10 application fee (checks made payable College of DuPage)

Showcase:
– Performance date: Saturday, July 29 at 7p
– Each choreographer will have max. of 50 minutes on stage to work and rehearse their piece the day of the event.
– Selected choreographers are required to attend the performance and will participate in post-show discussion.
– Performance will be videotaped by professional crew. Copies available for purchase $10.
– Lighting must use a generic plot. Technical needs must be minimal. See Playhouse Theater for the unique layout and unique setting. 

Panelists:
– Melissa Thodos (Artistic Director of Thodos Dance Chicago)
– Cecilia Ferguson-Bell (Winner of 1st Annual Choreography Showcase and Competition)
– Additional panelists announced closer to performance date; all panelists subject to change.

Awards:
1st place: $750
2nd place: $500
3rd place: $200

One or more of the selected choreographers may be chosen o perform their piece as a featured guest for the COD Dance Department concerts in the 2017-2018 season with an additional stipend.
