Sunday Musical Matinee: Irish Dulcimer with Phil Passen

The tunes in this program of traditional Irish music will range from beautiful slow airs to rousing reels and jigs, including some very recognizable melodies such as Irish Washerwoman and Danny Boy. Few musicians play the hammered dulcimer. Fewer still sing while accompanying themselves on this fascinating instrument, whose name means “beautiful song.” Phil Passen does both.
