Living-history actor Pamela Welcome portrays Sojourner Truth, the African-American abolitionist and women’s rights activist. Truth was born into slavery but escaped with her infant daughter to freedom in 1826. Two years later she went to court to recover her son, becoming the first black woman to win such a case against a white man. In 2014, Truth was included in Smithsonian magazine's list of the "100 Most Significant Americans of All Time."

Cantigny's regular daily parking fee is $5 per car. Parking is free on the first Wednesday of every month. On Saturdays and Sundays, May through September, parking is $10. The $10 rate also applies on Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. Parking is free at all times for Cantigny Park members, Honor Club members, and those attending ticketed events or other fee-based programs.
